In the afternoon of June 4, 2019, at An Hiep Commune People's Committee, Chau Thanh District, the Ben Tre Green Pomelo Cooperative Development Project (VCED) in collaboration with Ben Tre Green Pomelo Agricultural Cooperative and Resources Division and Environment of Chau Thanh district co-organized the seminar "Awareness raising and environmental protection action in green skin pomelo production and reporting on results of the project using biological / organic factors".
The seminar pointed out that environmental pollution comes from agricultural activities that have been negatively affecting human health and life.
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Bao - Chairman of the Board of Management of Ben Tre Green Pomelo Agricultural Cooperative asked the members: “What can farmers of Green Pomelo in Ben Tre do to limit pollution and protect? environment". Since then, the cooperative encourages the active participation of members of the cooperative and the community in protecting the environment, especially towards safe and sustainable agricultural production.
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Bao noted that farmers need to pay attention to environmental protection in growing green grapefruit
On this occasion, Mr. Huynh Huu Doan - Head of Plant Protection Station of Chau Thanh district instructed the people on some techniques to care for pomelo gardens, improve soil, and apply organic fertilizer. At the same time, a summary of the main contents gained from the implementation of the project "Beekeeping and parasitic beekeeping at the farm level", sponsored by Socodevi Foundation. Thereby, it can be replicated to members in the district communes.
