Earlier, in September 2019, Ben Tre Green Pomelo Cooperative and Thanh Binh Dragon Cooperative sent a sample shipment to Canada. The fresh fruits of these two cooperatives have been highly appreciated by Canadian importers and customers for their designs and safe freshness.
Cooperatives are actively negotiating to export shipments to Canada, helping to increase income for people, contributing to promoting bilateral trade between Canada and Vietnam, taking advantage of the Comprehensive Partnership Agreement and Transpacific progress (CPTPP) brought about.

Funded by the Government of Canada, the VCED project is jointly implemented by Socodevi and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD). Since 2015, the VCED Project has supported the establishment and development of 5 new large-scale cooperatives in 5 provinces and cities in accordance with the amended Law on Cooperatives 2012.
The most important purpose of the project is to help improve the livelihoods of farmers and men equally and sustainably, through the development of agricultural value chains and the development of new models of cooperatives. The VCED project supports cooperatives in many aspects, including management capacity, construction - upgrading workshops & equipment, branding ... to gradually improve the competitiveness of cooperatives in the market. dynamic.
Typically, Evergreen grape cooperative (Ninh Thuan), formerly known as VietGap Van Hai grape cooperative. Previously, grape products of farmers produced the price and the consumption was decided by traders. The situation of "good harvest season" still happens often.
But, since 2016, with the support of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Ninh Thuan province and the VCED project, Evergreen grape cooperative has gradually consolidated its organization to transform under the new Law on Cooperatives towards a new large-scale cooperative model. market oriented. Evergreen grape cooperative focused on limited use of plant protection drugs (plant protection), ensuring the drug time before harvest, checking pesticide residues on the contrary regularly ...
Immediately after harvesting, fresh grapes will be sorted, cleaned by the cooperative, packed in a closed process with modern technology. As such, the product will remain fresh until handed to consumers (NTD).
Ms. Vo Thi Kim Sa - Vice Rector of School of Agriculture and Rural Development Management 2, co-Project Director of VCED said: Since the project was put into practice, there have been 3 fruit cooperatives and 2 dairy cooperatives. These cooperatives have practical services such as providing fertilizers, helping their members access quality, cheap fertilizers, ensuring market requirements, ensuring safe products.
When farmers have products, the cooperative will diversify products to market, improve the value for farmers. At the national level, there is a young entrepreneurship program for young people following the cooperative model.
Through this project, we want to prove that cooperatives, farmers can go beyond the market, earn more money through processing activities. At the same time, creating jobs, keeping young people in the countryside, ”Sa said.
